[VIDEO] Diddy Wants To Reunite With The LOX

MTV Mixtape Daily:
People have been talking about Diddy and Mase reuniting ever since an online video surfaced in which the Harlem MC said he was coming from a meeting with the Bad Boy head honcho. But a different reunion might be going down between Diddy and one of his other acts.
“I would definitely love to do the next LOX album,” he told Mixtape Daily recently in Los Angeles. “I would love to collaborate with them. I think it’s important just to do. … I would look forward to it.”
Puff and the Warlocks together again? That would be big news for New York. The two factions were at odds for years before eventually patching things up. Jadakiss has openly discussed the possibilities in the past, but nothing has ever come out of it.
Now, with the Yonkers trio and Diddy both aligned under the Interscope umbrella, it sounds like things could be happening soon.
“We been talking about it,” Diddy revealed. “We have to sit down and have a real meeting about it.”

[COVER|INFO] DJ Green Lantern & Styles P - The Green Ghost Project Artwork & Press Release

“The Evil Genius” DJ Green Lantern, and Styles P “The Ghost” have joined forces to create a monster – “The Green Ghost Project” – and on Nov 17th the world will say “It’s Alive!!!”

“The Green Ghost Project”, a joint album filled with original production from DJ Green Lantern, Alchemist, Scram Jones, Statik Selektah, etc., can be seen as the next natural step for the two mixtape veterans who constantly look to push the boundaries of how Hip Hop is given to the fans. “Styles and I got together and made a monster”, says Green of the project, which is being distributed through Invasion/The Orchard.

“Don’t call me ‘The Ghost’ right now, call me ‘The Green Ghost’”, remarks Styles P about the album’s sinister undertone. “It’s a different display of talent. We got together and brainstormed about it and it came out crazy!”

DJ Green Lantern and Styles also added some potent ingredients to the mix in the form of guest appearances from Jadakiss, Sheek Louch, M.O.P, N.O.R.E, Uncle Murda, Junior Reid, and more, taking “The Green Ghost Project” to truly “monstrous” proportions.

[VIDEO] D-Block MTV Mixtape Daily Interview

Street Kings: D-Block

Holding It Down For: Yonkers

Independent Album: No Security

Real Spit: "You see the wood floors and all that," laughs Jadakiss. 'Kiss, Styles P and a conspicuously late Sheek Louch recently finished remodeling their D-Block studios in Yonkers. During our recent visit, the lab was filled with the LOX's soldiers as everyone chilled and switched off between "NBA Live 09" or maybe the new UFC fighting game. Just like brothers, everybody chipped in a few dollars to cop it.

"Whoever doesn't put in, doesn't play," Styles joked, looking directly at one of the new D-Block recruits, Bully. The LOX are excited to see how the streets handle a full dose of the guys they are tapping as the next dangerous MCs.

"We got a massive team," Styles said as he and 'Kiss ran through the names on the roster.

"New money, new studio, new artists, new projects — new," Jada smiled.

The roster includes Straw, A.P. (About Paper), Chary Ary, Bully, Snyp Life, Large Amount, Tommy Star, Don D, Ty and S.I.

"We always been comfortable with the lineup, because that's our little brothers — it's being comfortable with their work ethic and where their mind was. As far as artists, we felt they was cut from the cloth we was cut. They spit hard, they live what they talk. They know about this game, working hard nights, 24/7, 365. They know that. It's official.

"It most importantly starts in the studio," Jada added. "If ain't a life-or-death situation, you should be in the lab. If you can't be in the booth, be somewhere else with a beat CD playing. Everything else will fall in line."

The gully crew said their compilation album title is self-explanatory. Who would D-Block ever fear?

"We are the genuine article," Styles added. "We are each other's security. It's hard to understand when somebody say they was gangsta, they was on the block — then you got retired cops and other types of people protecting you."

'Kiss says they get so much love, who needs protection?

"When you hands on with the fans, it's better," he advised to fellow artists. "They spending 15 dollars on your project, they love you. They wanna touch you."

After this album gets a chance to breathe, Styles and 'Kiss say they have it all planned out. Jada is talking about dropping another album called Top Five, Dead or Alive at the end of the year and hopefully a LOX album will come before or around the same time.

"Now that this is wrapped up, it's full focus on that," he said about diverting the attention from No Security to the new LOX LP. "After we get this No Security out, you'll hear more talks on the LOX album. It's gonna be ridiculously nuts."

Joints To Check For

» "Like That Y'all." "It's real hip-hop," Jadakiss said. "Big shout-out to Pete Rock on the track. That's just bringing hip-hop back. Not saying it went anywhere, but you don't really get those types of songs on the radio or the video. [We're] just spittin' back-to-back. Sheek, Styles, myself, Snyp on the hook. We got another version with all the new cats on it. Just hip-hop at its origin. Not radio friendly, not club friendly. 'It's like that y'all.' If you know about that phrase right there, you know about hip-hop. That's how they used to warm the mics back in the day. 'Check one, two. It's like that y'all!' "

» "Trouble." "That too — it's real hip-hop," Styles explained.

"Big shout out to Chuck D!" Jada added.

"It's definitely a Chuck D rendition," Styles said. "We did it over ... trouble on our mind ... things be on our mind. Sometimes as an MC, you gotta go in the booth and go nuts. That's what we did. 'Trouble' really reflects an MC getting off his frustrations in a real nice way."

"No matter what, we refuse to lose," Jada said.

» "Let's Get Doe." "We wanted to do something classic and reflect the big homies," Snyp said. "Big shout out to G-Spin. The music spoke for itself. The hook was already done. All we had to do was come in and add our little part. There you have it."

[INTERVIEW] The Complex 7: D-Block

The Complex 7: D-Block

We’ve been hearing the name “D-Block” forever, but the L.O.X.’s longtime crew has never dropped an official studio album—until now, that is, with today’s release of No Security. Of course we already know Jadakiss, Sheek Louch, and Styles P, but D-Block features a bunch of new rappers like Bully, Snyp Life, Bucky, S.I., and Don D—yeah, us neither. Still, with Jada and co. appearing on most of the tracks, you can be sure that the album is worth knocking. As Styles says, “It’s a platform to introduce our young boys to the world.” Poor J.Hood.

We made the trek up to Yonkers recently to listen to the album and chat with the L.O.X.—probably the friendliest-but-gangsta dudes in all of hip-hop. They got so-called “street cred” for days yet are all legitimate family men with kids. In our latest Complex 7, we spoke to Jada, Sheek and Styles about past break-ups, family trips, and shiny suits, as well as which L.O.X. member would win a group fistfight…

Interviews by Jaeki Cho

#1: WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER ONE DEAL-BREAKER FOR A POTENTIAL GIRLFRIEND?

Jadakiss says: She just has to have a good personality besides looks.

Styles P says: I need a chick who understands me and accepts me for me. I’m from the streets, so I’ve seen hoodrats but I’ve been with my wife since the beginning of my career. There were definitely temptations and I’ve been through my ups and downs. You just need to have a good foundation. At the end of the day you need somebody you feel comfortable talking to.

Sheek Louch says: I would have to say her family. She could have a certain image, but when you get to meet the rest of her family you’ll get to know a lot about her. I ain’t talking about rich, I’m talking about aunties or uncles not running around wilding.

#2: WHAT’S THE WORST WAY SOMEONE BROKE UP WITH YOU?

Jadakiss says: By finding out without her telling me. [Cringes.] She was feeling somebody else the hard way!

Styles P says: I was with my wife kind of young. Before that I didn’t have many relationships. I had a couple but those were in high school and I was on the streets so I was never a sucker for love.

Sheek Louch says: Probably some regular shit that young men go through. Chicks cheating! You find out later on like, “Oh, word? She is fucking him? Damn…” [Laughs.] Some high school shit. I’ve gotten my heart broken a thousand times by bitches.

#3: IF YOU HAD A WEEK HOLIDAY, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Jadakiss says: I’ll chill, play basketball, shop, and watch sports.

Styles P says: Chill with the family—play-fight, video games, and Scrabble. I do family trips. I’ve been to St. Thomas, Bahamas…Last family trip was a month and a half ago when I drove to Cape Cod.

Sheek Louch says: I was going to say, man. I’m in a dying need for a vacation right now. I’ll take my whole family down somewhere and I’ll bring my mom too so she can help out watching my son. [Laughs.] I was about to head down to Cabo in Mexico until all this swine flu shit took place.

#4: WHAT HAS TO BE IN YOUR FRIDGE AT ALL TIMES?

Jadakiss says: I just need water and cranberry juice.

Styles P says: Soy milk, fruits, juice, no liquor, I got a wine cooler but that shit is barely ever full. I’m not big on beers. I’m trying to stay in shape.

Sheek Louch says: Chopped turkey meat. Countless boxes of cereal everywhere for the kids, milk…

#5: WHEN’S THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?

Jadakiss says: When my grandmother died. She passed away last year. We lost a couple close figures last year.

Styles P says: That’s a good fucking question. I cried a couple months ago thinking about my pops and my brother. My pops recently passed not even a year ago so thinking about that made me cry. Sometimes they are tears of joy too. It’s a blessing that they are in a better place. I’m human you know? I grew up close to both of my parents.

Sheek Louch says: Probably when my grandmother passed away a couple years ago. I don’t do too much movies with Kleenexes sobbing. [Laughs.] And when my son was born! Just like, “Look at this little n****!”

#6: WHAT’S THE MOST EMBARRASSING PIECE OF CLOTHING YOU’VE EVER WORN?

Jadakiss says: Shiny suit. It’s actually all good. All of them things were experiences. I would probably do it now being that all of the good and bad that came out of it. I would do it just for the love.

Styles P says: You know what it was with the shiny shit? People didn’t have beef with the shiny shit until we had beef with the shiny shit. People thought that shit was dope. It was still a good look. It was just something not to be done all the time. We just needed something to say against at the time.

Sheek Louch says: Now that I think about the shiny suits back then with Puff…It put us in a different tax bracket, man. We didn’t understand it then, I still don’t understand it now, but it took us to another level.

#7: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SNEAKER OF ALL TIME?

Jadakiss says: Air Force 1s and Jordans. Neck-and-neck. I like the Air Jordan VIIs.

Styles P says: It’s hard to say because a pair of Air Jordan I’s is crazy, a pair of Air Jordan VII is crazy too. I don’t have a particular favorite one. I like shits like these [points at his sneakers]. These are typical Prada joggers.

Sheek Louch says: Jordans. Shout out to my man Reggie from Jordan. Jordan staff, they send us so much stuff and show us so much love, man.

BONUS QUESTIONS:

Complex: Now that DMX is out of jail does D-Block have any plans to work with him?

Styles P: If X wants? Hell yea! That’s our homie forever.

Sheek Louch: I’ll love to work with X, man. You got to understand where we are in the Yonkers. Right down the street is the hood and a bit down is School Street where [DMX] is from. I’m just saying that because he is a legend. Before the standpoint the masses know of DMX, in Yonkers people knew he was crazy with it.

Jadakiss: Yeah, look out real soon. I don’t want to speak on it too early. I haven’t talked to the Dog yet, but it is coming. You’re going to see him real soon. When I say real soon, I mean real soon. In the next couple of weeks you’ll see it. It’ll be a big thing.

Complex: You guys have known each other since grade school. If you guys get into a fistfight who would win?

Styles P: Louch is definitely the biggest but I don’t know, I’m dangerous. [Quiets down.] But Louch too big, so I’ll give it to Sheek. It would be a long one though.

Jadakiss: Me of course! But we wouldn’t get into fistfights. Not since we’ve been grown men.

Sheek Louch: Jada and Styles will beat me up, man. They got it. [Laughs.] I do my little workout that’s it.

[NEWS] Styles P Pens Novel For Random House

Not only is Lox rapper a gangsta and a gentleman but now he will also be adding a published author to his resume. XXLMag.com had the chance to chop it up with the Yonkers rapper about his newest project.

The book, which Styles describes as a “jail mystery,” is the D-Block rapper’s first foray into the literary world. “I got a fiction book called Mr. Invincible coming out Nicki Turner Presents,” Styles revealed to XXL. “It’s just a fiction joint. It’s a little story, I’m just trying to get in another lane and do something creative and you gonna get to see it in a minute.”

When asked if he had any help putting the work together Styles replied, “They got a little editing team but all the writing is me, all the idea is me, all the thought is me.”

As of press time there is no release date for Mr. Invincible but Nicki Turner Presents/Random House will publish it. Turner is known as “the queen of hip-hop fiction,”with a slew of popular urban novels on the market.

In the meantime Styles is prepping the release of his upcoming D-Block compilation No Security hitting stores on June 9. Pinero tells XXL that he will be following that up with a short tour. “We about to get on the road do a lil promo tour for that,” he said. “Hit up Philly, VA, North Carolina, Connecticut, Boston and the Midwest and West too.”

Stay tuned to XXL as the dates become available. – Elan Mancini with reporting by Carl Chery

[E1 PRESS RELEASE] The Waiting Is Over! The Official, Long-Awaited New Album From D-Block Is Finally Here!

New York stand up! E1 Music is proud to announce the long-awaited release of "No Security," the brand new album from Yonkers' one and only, D-Block. "No Security" will be available in-stores and online on Tuesday, June 9th, 2009. Original Lox members Jadakiss, Sheek Louch and Styles P have re-joined forces after years of successful solo careers to release this new album. "No Security" features the entire D-Bock family and introduces the next generation of D-Block.

Collectively, solo projects from Jada, Sheek and Styles have sold over 3 million albums, not to mention their crucial involvement on countless mix-tapes and tours over the years. Jadakiss is still celebrating the success of his most recent release, "The Last Kiss," which hit #3 on Billboard's Top 200 this past April.

Sheek's latest solo release, "Silverback Gorilla" (KOCH 2008) debuted at # 3 on Billboard's Independent Chart, and after 3 successful solo albums, Styles still remains the ever-present gentleman/gangster since hitting the scene back in 2002 with his debut album whose sales soared over 700K. Each charismatic member has a distinctive style that stands on its own, but when combined, the result is music that is drenched in the past, perfect for today and looks to the future of hip-hop.

The Yonkers-based group was the backbone of Sean "Puffy" Combs' Bad Boy label during its heyday, hired as writers in the mid '90s. The trio wrote and performed on Combs' "I Got The Power," and "It's All About the Benjamins," Mase's "24 Hrs. to Live," the Notorious B.I.G.'s "Last Day," Mary J. Blige's "Can't Get You Off My Mind," and many others. The Lox released their debut album, "Money, Power & Respect" in 1998 -- it reached #3 on the Billboard Top 200 Charts. To date, THE LOX has sold 1.7 million albums.

CLICK ARTWORK TO PURCHASE "GET THAT PAPER" FROM iTUNES

The new single and fresh sounding "Get That Paper" is in heavy rotation at Hot 97 and shows off how the group has developed over the years. This track has that great summer-time, chill in the shade vibe and features S.I. on the infectious hook. The video (a throwback look at the brownstone block parties from back in the day) was shot in Brooklyn last month. The video is hitting B.E.T., MTV and portals now.

"No Security" is also set to feature appearances from O.J. Da Juiceman, Webstar, Beanie Sigel and Red Café'.

Alan Grunblatt, General Manager and Executive Vice President of E1 Music, adds, "D-Block is the quintessential E1 group. Fans have been waiting for this album for 5 years and will be thrilled to hear the latest collabos from Styles P, Sheek Louch and Jadakiss."

GET that paper... GET in line... and GET that new D-Block joint "No Security" this June!

[NEWS] Kiss already has producers and a title in mind for next album [MTV News]

Kiss wants Kanye West and Cam’ron on the remix of his current single, “Who’s Fake,” and he already knows what producers’ beats he needs for his next album.

“I’m definitely going back in,” the Yonkers native said. “The D-Block album is wrapped up. I’mma make sure we finish this LOX album, and I’m coming right back at the end of the year. I think I’m gonna call it Top Five, Dead or Alive. I’m only gonna work with Primo [DJ Premier], Alchemist, Swizz Beatz, Dame Grease, sh– like that. Have a couple of South [producers], and that’s it. Wham!”

The Black Babe Ruth’s Last Kiss is far from over, though. He just shot a video for “Who’s Real” in Harlem last week, with OJ Da Juiceman and Swizz. T.I., Ja Rule, the Clipse, Grafh and Black Hand Entertainment were among the friends who came down for cameo appearances.

After that, ‘Kiss is going with the single “Smoking Gun” — featuring Jazmine Sullivan — to close out the album. [VIDEO] N.O.R.E. learns how to use iTunes & buys The Last Kiss on iTunes

Being that illegally downloading music has reduced record sales, Nore opted to stand up for hip-hop and show the world that even a person with his knowledge of technology can go online and ‘LEGALLY” buy a album.

Although it took the Superthug 4 hours to learn how to buy a album on iTunes, he successfully did it and supported “legal” downloading. Damn! With those 4 hours, Nore could of just walked to the nearest retailer to buy the album, but we do live in a digital world, so fuck it. It aint that Nore is half retarded, he’s just half smart.

He gets there in the end. Follow suit peoples and cop that album and get CNNs Channel 10 while you're at it.

[VIDEO] Jadakiss Interview w/ StreetHeat

Kiss talks possibility of going back to Badboy, the tight bond between the LOX, tight pants, future D-Block/G-Unit collabo, the Notorious B.I.G. biopic, Ruff Ryders, J-Hoods "Letter to the LOX" and of course the new album.

Kiss says The LOX album will be out christmas time...my thinking it will be 2010, ten years since the last one and who knows what label that will be on.

[NEWS|VIDEO] Could The Lox be on their way back to Bad Boy? Jada talks Lox offers & tours with MTV

Jadakiss Talks LOX Offers, Rumored Lil Wayne/ Jay-Z TourJada says Diddy made the group 'a light offer' to return to Bad Boy.

NEW YORK — A decade ago, it was "Let the LOX go!" In 2009, it very well could be "Bring the LOX back!"

Jadakiss said Diddy is trying to reacquire one of his most treasured acts: the LOX. "Diddy made us a light offer, all you label heads," Jadakiss told MTV News. "He made us a nice light one."

Diddy and all three LOX members appeared on "106 & Park" on Tuesday, and footage of them backstage hit the Net via Diddy's Twitter page.

"Our relationship is lovely," 'Kiss said of his ties with Puff. Back in the day, Jada, Sheek Louch and Styles P decided to leave Bad Boy due to creative differences, and later, the trio publicly threatened Diddy because they said the label CEO owed them money. That situation was resolved years ago.

"Diddy is our big homie, but the people know the business wasn't as tight as it was supposed to be in the beginning," Jada said. "This [deal], it would have to be [right]. ... Listen, he made the offer. He said, 'You know what we been through. I got extra bread for y'all.' That came out of his mouth."

One of Diddy's biggest competitors for the LOX might be a mutual friend: Jay-Z. Jada is signed to Roc-A-Fella/ Def Jam for a solo deal, and Hov has been trying to bring the entire group into the fold for years. 'Kiss said he and his Yonkers brothers are open to hearing all offers.

"If somebody makes an offer first, then the bidding war goes down," Jada said. "I'm sure some of the big guys will make some offers. If not, Diddy, holla at me."

Jada is promoting his new LP, The Last Kiss, and a tour is being worked out for a co-headlining outing with Cam'ron.

"Me and Killa supposed to go out, probably do some House of Blues-type of venues," he said. "Then I'm gonna try and sneak on that Weezy and Hov joint going out after that."

A tour with Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and Jada? Hmm ... sounds like something huge for the fans. "Yeah," 'Kiss agreed.

Reps for Jay-Z and Lil Wayne said they haven't heard about a Jay and Wayne tour.

Via MTV News

So do you think this would be a good move or should i say a wise move for The Lox? I'm not too sure but it would be a killer story lol. Perhaps the unfinished business with Diddy could translate itself into a classic Lox album! Wath this space.
